Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 August 2026
This explains what personal information we collect when you visit or buy from getmotolink.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have.
We handle your information in accordance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles, the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, and the Canadian Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) including Quebec's Law 25 — whichever applies to you.
1. Who is responsible
MOLTA TRADE Sp. z o.o., trading as Moto Link ul. Leśna 1, 80-209 Chwaszczyno, Poland KRS 0001219442 · NIP 5892108872
We are the data controller under the UK GDPR, and the equivalent responsible entity under Australian, New Zealand and Canadian law. In Canada, the person accountable for our compliance is our Privacy Officer, reachable at the address below.
For any privacy question or request: contact.motolink@gmail.com
We haven't appointed a Data Protection Officer, as we aren't required to.
2. What we collect
Information you give us:
- name, email address, delivery address, billing address and phone number
- order details — what you bought, what you paid, order status
- messages you send us, including support, returns and warranty correspondence, and any photographs or video you send to support a claim
- marketing preferences, if you sign up
- reviews you choose to post
Information collected automatically:
- IP address, device type, browser and operating system
- pages viewed, items added to basket, and how you reached our site
- cookie identifiers, where you've consented to non-essential cookies
Payment information. Card payments are handled by our payment provider. We receive confirmation that payment succeeded, the payment method type and the last digits of the card. We never see or store your full card number.
We don't collect sensitive information, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. Our products aren't marketed to children.
3. Why we use it
We use your information to:
- take and fulfil your order, arrange delivery and customs clearance, and handle returns, warranty claims and refunds
- answer your questions and provide support
- keep accounting and tax records and meet our obligations under consumer and product safety law
- prevent fraud and chargeback abuse, and keep the site secure
- send you marketing, where you've agreed or where you've bought from us and haven't opted out
- run analytics and advertising, where you've consented
- publish reviews you submit
If UK GDPR applies to you, our lawful bases are:
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Taking and fulfilling your order, delivery, returns, warranty, refunds | Performance of a contract |
| Answering questions and providing support | Contract, or legitimate interests in responding |
| Accounting and tax records, consumer and product safety duties | Legal obligation |
| Preventing fraud, keeping the site secure | Legitimate interests in protecting our business and customers |
| Marketing emails | Consent, or soft opt-in where you've bought from us |
| Analytics and advertising cookies | Consent |
| Publishing your review | Consent |
If you're in Australia, New Zealand or Canada, by placing an order you consent to us collecting and using your information for the purposes above. We identify our purposes when we collect, we collect only what's necessary, and we don't use your information for a new purpose without asking you first. You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions — though if you withdraw consent we need to fulfil an order, we may not be able to complete it.
We don't make decisions about you by purely automated means that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
4. You can deal with us anonymously
You can browse this site and ask us general questions — about compatibility, specifications or delivery times — without identifying yourself. We only need your details when you place an order or make a claim.
Providing your name, contact and delivery details is voluntary, but we can't accept or deliver an order without them.
5. Who we share it with
We share only what's necessary, and only with:
- Shopify — our e-commerce platform, which hosts this store and processes orders
- our payment provider — to take payment and handle refunds and chargebacks
- our fulfilment partner outside your country, in most cases in the People's Republic of China — we pass your name, delivery address, phone number, email and order contents so your parcel can be packed and sent
- carriers, postal operators and customs brokers — the international carrier and the final-mile carrier in your country, so they can deliver, let you track your parcel, and complete customs declarations
- customs and tax authorities — including HMRC and Border Force, the Australian Border Force and the ATO, New Zealand Customs and Inland Revenue, and the CBSA and CRA, where required to import your parcel or meet our tax obligations
- our order management, email, marketing and support tools — under contracts requiring them to protect your information
- our accountants and professional advisers — where necessary
- authorities — where the law requires it, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not trade it.
6. Sending information overseas
Please read this — it applies to every order.
We're based in Poland. Our platform and some of our tools are hosted outside your country, including in the United States, Ireland and elsewhere. Our fulfilment partner is outside your country and in most cases in the People's Republic of China, and international carriers may handle your details in other countries in transit.
This means your personal information will be transferred across borders, including to countries whose data protection laws may offer weaker protection than your own. While your information is in another country, it is subject to the laws of that country, and may be accessible to that country's courts, law enforcement and national security authorities.
Where required and possible, we put safeguards in place — the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or Standard Contractual Clauses. Where a transfer to a fulfilment partner or carrier can't be covered by such a contract, we rely on it being necessary to perform our contract with you — getting your order to your door — and we transfer only the minimum needed.
This section serves as our notice under Australian Privacy Principle 8 and New Zealand Information Privacy Principle 12. Australian and New Zealand customers should note that by placing an order you authorise disclosure to these overseas recipients, who may not be required to protect your information in a way that provides comparable safeguards to the Australian Privacy Principles or the Privacy Act 2020. Canadian customers in Quebec: we assess transfers outside the province as Law 25 requires.
You can ask us for detail about a specific transfer at any time.
7. Marketing
We only send marketing emails where you've agreed, or where you've bought from us and would reasonably expect it.
Every marketing email identifies us, gives our contact details, and includes a working unsubscribe link. You can also email us to opt out. We action opt-outs promptly and free of charge — within 10 business days at the latest, as Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation requires. We also comply with UK PECR, the Australian Spam Act 2003 and the New Zealand Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.
8. Cookies
Essential cookies make the site work — your basket, secure checkout. These don't require consent.
Analytics and advertising cookies and pixels are only set after you consent through our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw consent at any time through the banner or your browser settings. Withdrawing consent doesn't affect processing that already took place.
9. How long we keep it
- Orders and accounting records — as long as tax law requires. This is generally 5 years in Australia, 6 years in the UK and Canada, and 7 years in New Zealand; we apply the longest period that applies to you.
- Returns, warranty and complaint records — for the duration of the matter, then for as long as a related legal claim could be brought.
- Support correspondence — normally up to 24 months from your last contact.
- Marketing data — until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.
- Cookie data — the lifetime of the cookie, or until you withdraw consent.
We destroy, erase or de-identify personal information once we no longer need it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- give you access to the personal information we hold about you, and tell you how we've used it and who we've disclosed it to
- correct information that's wrong, out of date, incomplete or misleading
- delete information we no longer need
- restrict or stop certain processing
- transfer your information to another provider in a portable format
- stop marketing — or use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email
- withdraw a consent you've given
If you live in Quebec you also have rights to de-indexing and data portability under Law 25.
To exercise any of these, email contact.motolink@gmail.com. We respond within the time your law allows:
| Where you live | Response time |
|---|---|
| United Kingdom | One month |
| Australia | 30 days |
| New Zealand | 20 working days |
| Canada | 30 days |
We don't charge for access requests. We may need to verify your identity first. These rights have limits — if an exception applies, we'll tell you in writing, explain why, and tell you how to complain.
If we can't correct something in New Zealand, you can ask us to attach a statement of correction to the record, and we will.
11. Complaints
Please come to us first — email contact.motolink@gmail.com with "Privacy complaint" in the subject line. We acknowledge within 5 business days and respond within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied, you can complain to your privacy regulator:
| Where you live | Regulator |
|---|---|
| United Kingdom | Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), 0303 123 1113, ico.org.uk |
| Australia | Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), 1300 363 992, oaic.gov.au |
| New Zealand | Office of the Privacy Commissioner, 0800 803 909, privacy.org.nz |
| Canada | Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, 1-800-282-1376, priv.gc.ca. In Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information. In Alberta and British Columbia, your provincial Information and Privacy Commissioner |
| Poland | President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO), uodo.gov.pl |
12. Keeping your information safe
We use encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS), restrict access to those who need it, keep our systems updated, and collect only what we need.
If there's a data breach likely to put you at risk, we'll notify you and the relevant regulator as the law requires — under the UK GDPR, Australia's Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, New Zealand's notifiable privacy breach rules, and PIPEDA's breach of security safeguards provisions.
13. Social media
We run pages on social platforms. If you interact with us there, the platform also processes your information under its own privacy policy, as an independent controller. We don't control what they do with it.
14. Changes
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The current version is always published here, with the date it was last updated.
