Refund policy
Returns, Cancellations and Warranty
Last updated: 17 August 2026
This page explains when you can cancel an order, when you can return a product, and what happens if something is wrong with it.
We ship to the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Consumer law differs between these countries, so a few parts of this page are split by where you live. Everything else applies to everyone.
Nothing on this page limits or excludes any right you have under the consumer law of your country. Where this policy and the law differ, the law applies.
Cancelling before we ship
If you change your mind before your order is dispatched, email contact.motolink@gmail.com with your order number. We'll cancel it and refund you in full, with no deductions and no questions.
Orders usually go to our fulfilment partner within 1 to 2 business days, so please contact us quickly. Once a parcel is with the carrier we can no longer stop it.
Changing your mind after delivery
This is the one part of our policy that differs by country, because the law does.
United Kingdom
You have 14 days to cancel, without giving a reason. This is your statutory right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
When the 14 days run. The period ends 14 days after the day you, or someone you've named other than the carrier, take physical possession of the goods. If your order arrives in more than one parcel, it ends 14 days after the last parcel arrives.
How to cancel. Tell us clearly that you're cancelling — email contact.motolink@gmail.com, write to our returns address below, or use the cancellation form at the bottom of this page. Sending your message before the deadline is enough; it doesn't matter when it reaches us.
Sending it back. Return the goods within 14 days of telling us you're cancelling.
You bear the direct cost of returning the goods. Our returns address is in Poland, so this means international postage — typically £15 to £30 depending on the service. Please use a tracked service and keep proof of postage; we can't refund goods that never arrive and can't be traced.
Your refund. We'll refund everything you paid, including the outbound delivery charge, but only up to the cost of our cheapest standard delivery — if you paid extra for a faster service, we don't refund the difference. We'll refund within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or within 14 days of you giving us proof you've sent them, whichever is earlier, to the same card or account you paid with.
If you've used it. You may handle the unit as you would in a shop — open the box, look at it, power it on, check it works. If you go further and the unit loses value, we may deduct that loss from your refund. See "Condition of returned goods" below.
When this doesn't apply. The statutory right to cancel doesn't cover goods made to your specification or clearly personalised, or sealed goods unsuitable for return on health or hygiene grounds once opened. These almost never apply to our products.
Australia, New Zealand and Canada
We do not offer refunds, exchanges or returns for change of mind. That includes deciding you no longer want the product, ordering the wrong item, or finding it cheaper elsewhere.
Please check the specifications and confirm the unit is compatible with your motorcycle and your phone before you order. If you're unsure about anything, email us first — we'd far rather answer a question than have you stuck with something that doesn't suit you.
This does not affect your statutory rights if the product is faulty, unsafe or not as described. Those rights are set out in the next section and cannot be excluded.
If something is wrong with your product
These rights apply automatically, cannot be signed away, and are not limited by our warranty.
United Kingdom
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
| When | What you can do |
|---|---|
| First 30 days | Reject it and get a full refund |
| 30 days to 6 months | Ask for repair or replacement; if that fails, a refund or price reduction. A fault in this window is presumed to have been present at delivery unless we prove otherwise |
| Up to 6 years (5 in Scotland) | Bring a claim |
If your order cost over £100 and you paid by credit card, you may also have a claim against your card issuer under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
Australia
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
A failure is major where the product is unsafe, significantly different from its description, substantially unfit for its normal purpose and not easily fixed within a reasonable time, or where a reasonable consumer aware of the problem wouldn't have bought it. Where the failure is major, you choose a refund or a replacement, or you can keep the unit and claim compensation for the drop in value.
Where the failure is minor, we choose whether to repair, replace or refund. If we take too long or can't fix it, you can then reject the unit and choose a refund or replacement.
New Zealand
Under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, goods must be of acceptable quality, fit for their normal purpose, as described, and reasonably durable.
Where the problem is minor and fixable, we'll repair, replace or refund. If we take an unreasonable time or can't fix it, you can reject the unit and choose a refund or a replacement of similar value, or have it fixed elsewhere and recover the reasonable cost from us.
Where the problem is substantial, you choose: reject it for a refund, take a replacement, or keep it and claim compensation for the drop in value.
We also comply with the Fair Trading Act 1986 and won't mislead you about the product or your rights.
Canada
Every province and territory gives you a legal warranty that cannot be waived. Broadly, it requires that the product is fit for its normal purpose, matches its description, is of acceptable quality, and lasts a reasonable time given its price and how it's used.
In Quebec, the legal warranty of durability under the Consumer Protection Act applies for as long as a reasonable consumer would expect the product to last — which may be considerably longer than any manufacturer's warranty.
If we don't deliver within 30 days of the delivery date shown at checkout, or of the order date where no date was given, you may cancel and receive a full refund. You lose this right if you accept delivery after that point. In Quebec, where you cancel we must refund within 15 days; if we don't, you may ask your credit card issuer to reverse the charge.
If you live in Ontario and your order is over CAD 50, you may cancel within 7 days of receiving your copy of the agreement if we didn't give you the information the Consumer Protection Act requires, or within 30 days of the order date if we didn't send you a copy at all. Your order confirmation email is that copy — please keep it.
Everywhere: how long these rights last
Statutory rights are not capped at 12 months. How long they last depends on what a reasonable consumer would expect given the price, the nature of the product and how it's used. Our 12-month warranty below sits on top of them and takes nothing away.
Making a claim
Wherever you live, the process is the same. Email contact.motolink@gmail.com with:
- your order number
- a description of what's wrong
- photographs, or a short video showing the fault
We'll respond within 5 business days. If we ask you to return the unit for assessment, we pay the postage — you're never out of pocket for a genuine fault.
You don't need the original packaging to make a claim. You do need proof of purchase: your order confirmation email, a bank or card statement, or an invoice number is fine.
Our 12-month limited warranty
In addition to your statutory rights, we warrant the product against manufacturing defects.
Who gives this warranty: MOLTA TRADE Sp. z o.o., ul. Leśna 1, 80-209 Chwaszczyno, Poland. Email contact.motolink@gmail.com.
How long: 12 months from the date you receive the product.
What we'll do: repair it, replace it, or refund you — at our option — at no charge to you.
What you need to do: email us within the warranty period with your order number, proof of purchase, a description of the defect, and photographs or a short video. We may ask you to return the unit for assessment.
Who pays: we cover the repair or replacement and return postage on a valid claim. If assessment shows the unit isn't defective, or the problem is excluded below, we may ask you to cover postage to send it back to you.
Not covered: accidental and crash damage, misuse, neglect, normal wear, cosmetic marks that don't affect function, damage from incorrect installation or connection to the motorcycle's electrical system, damage from unauthorised repair or modification, water entering through a damaged or improperly closed port cover, and loss or theft.
Your other rights. The benefits given by this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies available to you under the law in relation to these goods. It replaces nothing.
If you are in Australia: Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Condition of returned goods
Where you return a product to us — whether cancelling in the UK, or sending one back at our request — please send it complete, with all mounts, cables, documentation and, where possible, the original box.
If a product comes back showing use beyond what's needed to check its nature and function, we may reduce a refund to reflect the lost value. For this product that means:
- signs of permanent installation on a motorcycle, including adhesive residue or drilled or modified mounting hardware
- power cables or connectors that have been cut, spliced, shortened or altered
- scratches, chips or cracks to the housing, screen or lens
- warranty seals broken, removed or tampered with
- missing mounts, cables, documentation or original packaging
- damage from being wired incorrectly into a motorcycle's electrical system
If we deduct anything, we'll tell you in writing and show exactly how we worked it out.
This does not apply to faulty goods. If the product is defective, you get a full remedy regardless of its condition.
Damaged, wrong or missing items
Check your parcel when it arrives. If a product is damaged, isn't what you ordered, or something is missing, email us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and photographs of both the product and the outer packaging. We'll arrange a replacement or refund at no cost to you.
Reporting later than 7 days doesn't remove your statutory rights — it just makes a carrier damage claim harder to prove.
Parcels that don't arrive
If tracking has stalled, or your parcel hasn't arrived within the window on our Shipping and Delivery page, contact us and we'll trace it with the carrier. Where a parcel is confirmed lost in transit, we'll resend or refund your order.
If a parcel is returned to us because the address you gave was wrong or incomplete, or because you didn't collect it, we'll contact you. You may be asked to cover the cost of a second delivery attempt.
If we can't resolve it
Email us first — we settle almost everything that way. We acknowledge complaints within 2 business days and give a full response within 14 days.

Business customers
If you buy wholly or mainly for a business, trade or profession, the consumer rights above don't apply to you. There is no right to cancel for change of mind in any country, and our liability is limited as set out in our Terms of Service.
New Zealand business buyers: where you acquire goods for business purposes, you and we agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply, to the extent permitted by section 43 of that Act.

For UK customers exercising the right to cancel. You don't have to use this form — any clear statement will do.
